I have the honour to invite your attention to
the fact that your return of Bank Notes in circulation, dated
the 5th. instant, shows the total for April to be $2,938,719,
whereas the limit in the Colony was laid down by the Lords
Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury at $2,750,000.
I shall be glad to receive your observations
on this matter for the information of Government.
